Our research fields comprise Applied Plasmonics, Magnetoelectronics, and Solid State Analytical Methods.

The complex of plasmonic effects in metallic nanostructures (shortly: plasmonics) combines our long-term experience in the preparation, nanotechnology, and characterization of ultra-thin metal films with nanobiology and Raman spectroscopy. The scientific and technological basis is provided by our knowledge and technological setup in the preparation of ultra-thin metallic layers and layer systems as well as epitaxial oxide films with well defined surfaces.
