Department of Quantum Detection

The Department of Quantum Detection deals with the development of detectors and measuring systems for detection at the quantum limit. Efforts include the development of ultrasensitive bolometers for the infrared and terahertz ranges, and magnetometers utilizing quantum effects for achieving extreme sensitivities. The development and manufacture of detectors are based on advanced micro- and nanotechnologies. The detectors are integrated into novel measuring systems that permit spatially and time-resolved monitoring.
