Development of chemically and biologically functional surfaces:

PEGA-synthesis resin arrays on micro patterned surfaces

On the basis of poly-dimethyl- acrylamido-poly-ethylene-glycol co-polymers (PEGA) arrays of synthesized resins on micro patterned glass surfaces were fabricated. These have the same chemical properties (swellability, solvent behaviour) as conventionally produced PEGA-beads and therefore are well suited as synthesis resins in combinatorial synthesis.

Due to the very good (covalent) adhesion on the glass surface, immobilized PEGA has a number of advantages over classical beads: universal handling (like conventional micro titer plates or nano titer plates of IPHT), very low substance consumption and the possibility of parallel solid phase synthesis on a chip.
