Backed by a broad scope of competences and a comprehensive technical infrastructure in the fields of microsystem technology, microfluidics and biotechnology, the Department’s scientific program is centered on the development of devices, system solutions and methods for miniaturized analysis and diagnosis. By integrating photonic technologies and microfluidic techniques of sample manipulation and sample preparation, we harness the potentials of miniaturization to develop novel, high-performance integrated system solutions and methods for molecular diagnostics.

In addition to our scientific research activities our department offers scientific and technical services on micro systems technology and microfluidics to internal and external costumers.
