Characterization of industrial burners

LIF image acquisition
LIF image acquisition

Industrial burners are used for fabrication of products (e.g. flame synthesis), for heating or for warming up objects during the fabrication process. In many cases arrays of burners with defined properties are used. We characterize burners using laser based techniques. Often flames of industrial burners have large extents. Applying sophisticated analysis methods, these flames can also be visualized.

For detection of, e.g., laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) laser beams are formed to a light sheet of some centimeters in height. For registration of LIF in extended flames several LIF images have to be combined as shown above.
