Combustion diagnostics
Laser diagnostics is an ideal tool for spectroscopy as well as imaging of combustion processes, since it offers non-contact, non-destructive methods for sensitive and selective measurements. Our research topics include combustion diagnostics for normal (laboratory) conditions as well as under microgravity (cooperation with drop tower team at Bremen). We use a number of different techniques to characterize a variety of specially designed burners, reactors and flames:
